Reiki

  • Sunrise Reiki, Phang Nga Bay

REIKI is a Japanese word that pronounces as Lei-ki instead of ‘Rei’. In fact, technically, in the Japanese language, there is no word or letter with R as its pronunciation.

REIKI means Universal Life Force Energy. Simply put, this ‘hands-on’ therapy restores our physical, mental and emotional imbalances into original state of wellness. Once you learn the technique on how to channel the abundance of natural resource that is energy, it will be with you the rest of your life as a way to heal yourself, to heal others and any living beings such as animals and plants. It is not based on a belief system of any sorts – but simply follows the natural law of physics. You can be a conduit of Reiki energy so long as you do your daily practices.

Followings are few benefits which everyone could obtain from using Reiki

  • Feeling less tired/stressed
  • Relief of physical and emotional pain
  • Increase in vital energy and feeling happier
  • Reduction in old patterns of habit

Tibetan Singing Bowls

“We cannot solve our problems with the same mind that we created the Problem.” Albert Einstein

Vibration/Sound + Intention = Manifestation

The power of the sound healing using ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls is indescribably profound and alters our consciousness for positive transformation. It not only can penetrate the body at the cellular level as transfiguration to ease pain, but also open our energetic body to healing, regeneration, and restoration to regain balance and harmony.

Course Modules:

Singing Bowl Practitioner course Level 1 (30 hours over 6 days)

This week-long workshop will give you the foundation to be able to use up to 3 bowls of the Seven Chakra bowls for self-healing and healing of others. You will learn the theory, techniques with ample practicing time during the course. This is a first and a pre-requisite course to take before moving onto up to 7 bowl therapy.

Singing Bowl Practitioner course Level 2 (30 hours over 6 days) Available in 2017

Singing Bowl Practitioner course Level 3 (30 hours over 6 days) Available in 2017

In order to take this course, you will need to take the above 2 levels for a second time not just from a student’s point of view but also from a teaching perspective – to be able to teach the subject and to present it properly. This course also covers techniques on how to teach and promote your workshops.

Specialized courses also available

If you are already a professional teaching yoga and a therapist, it may help you to broaden your skills by incorporating Tibetan Singing Bowls into your current work. If you are one of the following professions it may benefit you to gain some knowledge in Sound Healing. Each course takes one day to complete.

  1. Yoga and Meditation Practitioner and Teacher.

The society is producing many yoga teachers. If you would wish to gain unique yet powerful skills to share and also differentiate yourself from regular Asana classes, this may be the class for you. The Centre’s singing bowl classes not only focus on the bells and bowls but also give you a very solid background in yogic practices. Nada Yoga is the flow of sound yoga in ancient traditions. You will learn how to incorporate sound into your daily practices either internally or externally.

  1. Energy Worker.

When combining with bowls and energy together, it allows us to relax deeply and help give us gain clarity. The sound and the energy will guide you and facilitate the healing process. This course also covers preparation with Singing Bowl sound, beginning and ending the session with bowls and Tingsha, the Tibetan bells.

  1. Physical/Massage Therapist.

Many leading Spas are using Tibetan Singing Bowls at the beginning of massage treatments. The sound from ancient bowls made with seven metals facilitates deep relaxation more quickly and deeply than any other modality. Similarly, physical therapists, chiropractors and acupuncturist have been incorporating bowls and getting positive outcome with their patients. They are a great fusion of therapy with holistic approaches.

It’s hard to put into words my experience on the island. There is a magical
energy there and Shima Healing is a beautiful complement to that energy. I
learned so much and left refreshed. I personally witnessed the healing
power of the Bowls: My wrist injury healed completely during the course!
Thank you, Shima Healing! I will be back.

Akiko Igarashi

Akiko Igarashi is a distinguished teacher of healing. She is a Reiki Instructor, a Qigong practitioner, a Yoga teacher, and a Tibetan Singing Bowl Master. Above all else, Akiko is a dedicated student of life.

The practice of inner stillness and focus began at a young age with Akiko. Born in Hokkaido, Japan, she was raised in the Eastern tradition of mindful living and the knowing of the interconnectedness of all beings in our existence.

For many years, even though Akiko chose a corporate life path, the practice of cultivating inner wisdom was never far from her heart, or her mind. Whilst many who worked in the same field holidayed in cities or on the beach with a cocktail in hand, Akiko walked the pilgrimage route of Camino de Santiago Compostela three times, volunteered in orphanages, and studied healing with teachers in far-off places of Nepal, India and Japan.

Through her own journeys, Akiko embodies the understanding that to heal others we must heal ourselves. This healing of the self comes from a willingness to see, feel and listen to the messages within. And from that point of bliss, greater joy is experienced by giving, and receiving in return. This is the gift Akiko wishes to share with the world through the Shima Healing Institute and its associated projects.

Akiko can be found at the Shima Healing Institute in Thailand facilitating courses, or conducting workshops in Asian countries and Europe in the summer. When she is not teaching, practicing or traveling, Akiko is rock climbing, composing children’s science fantasy literature, writing calligraphy works, and creating new projects that uplifts communities. And of course, she makes sure there is always time to just do nothing, and be.
